Post-Sunday Recap 08/18

Last Sunday, 08/18/2024, Pastor Rafael Ruiz continued the series It is Written with a new message titled, Affirm your Faith. Pastor Rafael stated we need to affirm our faith to resist temptation.

In the book of Romans we learn faith comes from hearing about Christ:

“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ” (Romans 10:17 NLT).

We also learn affirmation of faith comes from speech:

“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved” (Romans 10:10 NIV).

Pastor Rafael stated giving into temptation leads us away from God. So if we know faith comes from hearing about Christ, and giving into temptation leads us away from God. What things can we do to affirm our faith?

o   Quote scripture (there is power in God’s word!)

o   Teach scripture

o   Practice apologetics

o   Sing to your favorite worship music

o   Listen to Christian faith-based podcasts

o   Participate in a small group
