About Ogden, UT
The city of Ogden is located north of Salt Lake City, Utah. Ogden is nestled beside the Wasatch mountain range and speaks inaudibly of God’s beauty and purposeful design. Ogden is a laid-back city of about 84,000 people. An estimated 33% of the population comes from Hispanic roots.
In 2018, head pastor Rafael Ruiz opened The Verb Church solely as a Spanish-speaking church. In 2022, we transitioned to become a dual-speaking church incorporating English into the Spanish-led teaching. We invite our local community to join us in exploring the verbs of the Bible.

Who We Are
Our goal is to grow the global church by teaching the love of Jesus, and the free gift of The Holy Spirit, though our in-person gatherings and online presence.
We invite seekers to explore faith in Jesus without judgment or rejection. We encourage Christians to follow God with with all their heart, all their minds, and all their souls. We strive to be a place where hurt people can find compassion and a new start. We teach that Scripture and worship are not just for head knowledge but to be live out daily. Our joy is to see people experiencing true freedom and salvation given through Christ.
Our Why
Jesus looked at the multitude of people following Him and had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9:36) Confused and helpless is the status quo for many of us. We often think we can control our lives, but after events go out of our control, we get frustrated and discouraged. Thankfully, Jesus compassion and love provided a way to find a new chance in live. It all start when we seek Him. The Bible teaches us that those who seek will find. The first step in your journey to change is believing in Jesus, repenting from your sins and declaring Him as your savior. This may be a bit hard to understand and that why the Church is here to support each other. We invite you to join us. While you have time in this Earth is never too late to find God and He is waiting for you to seek Him today.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Rafael loves the city of Ogden and truly believes God can transform anyone who gives Him the opportunity to do so. Rafael previously served as the Hispanic pastor for Washington Heights Church (3 years), and Saddleback Church (3 years).

Jose Sanchez
ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Jose, also known as Santi, is originally from San Diego, California. Santi is proud to be of Mexican descent and speaks both Spanish and English. Jose has enjoyed the opportunity to serve as lead pastor in student ministry. Jose currently provides English translation service for our live services.
